Pork Satay
Using the right meat makes all the difference !
Ingredients
Only the best will do.
- 1/4 cup(50 ml.) sunflower/canola oil
- 1/4 cup(50 ml.) sweet soy sauce (Ketjap Manis or ABC sauce)
- 1 lbs boneless pork - tenderloin
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tbsp sambal oelek (the hot stuff)
- 2 tbsp crushed garlic or 2 minced cloves
- pepper, salt, brown sugar
the how to
The day before the meal cut the tenderloin in 1" cubes and put in a bowl. Add pepper, salt and brown sugar to liking. Add the garlic and mix the works. Cover up and put in fridge for a day or at least over night. The next day thread the cubes on a bamboo or metal skewer (lube with oil so the meat does not stick) and barbeque till tender or depending on your taste but make certain the meat is cooked. Just past medium rare would give the tenderest results. Brush the left over marinate while bbq-ing.
Remove meat from skewer and put on dish or bowl and serve with rice and peanut sauce. Great as a snack too!
