Welcome to the Liquid section
The rijsttafel can be very filling and beer can be too, but still beer is the best drink to complement the hot dishes (my personal opinion). Drink responsibly !:)

Powerful coffee, introduced by the Dutch in 1699, is grown widely on Java, Bali, and Sumatra and is served pitch-black, sweet, thick, and rich, with the grounds floating on top. Indonesian kopi is sometimes laced with chicory or chocolate. Another drink is Selasih seeds ( Indonesian traditional drink) and is very sweet being made of a third cup of sugar, 2 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of syrup. Then add selasih seed. WOW, this stuff attracts bees! And they say it makes you loose weight.
Four traditional alcoholic drinks are: Tuak, Sajeng, Arak and Brem
Then ofcourse there is coconut milk and bottled water.Yellow
The people behind this Indonesian beer are offcourse Dutch. They are the folks of Heineken. Construction of the brewery began in Surabaya in 1929 during Dutch colonial rule of Indonesia. In 1949, following Indonesian independence, the brewery was renamed 'Heineken's Indonesian Brewery Company'. In 1957, the Indonesian Government appropriated the brewery, and retained control for the next ten years. In 1967 Heineken resumed operations of the brewery, which was later renamed "Multi Bintang Indonesia".
Don't drink and drive!
